[plive0402] triPhaze - Live at Privatelektro Headphone Festival 2004
The second release in the Privatelektro Headphone Festival 2004 live series.
the spanish bootleg tapes and new travel experiences -
app. 37 minutes of abstract granular sound and waves.
All mixed with found spanish k7 tapes
(in the streets of barcelona) and other samples...
easy listening for the hard of hearing.
a more ruff kind of sounds, one remembers on karaoke shows.. that was produced live for this years headphone-festival edition.

somewhat random radio noises
These are remixes of Spanish radio and conversations mixed with lots of electronic sputtering and echoes acting as counterpoint. As an aside, I have to say that the song being remixed at about the 12 minute mark is remarkably fun and catchy.
I didn't particularly care for the alternation between the telephone voices and the series of tones. And I didn't feel the voices integrated really well into the soundscape; perhaps it was because the voices here were strange, jarring and sometimes artificial caricatures of real people's voices. The voices didn't really blend with the electronic humming; they interrupted. It might have helped if there was more repetition in the voice samples.
There were moments here where things synced and juxtapositions worked, and there were nice sound discoveries, but overall the whole effect left me unsatisfied.
